Twiddle Muff

A twiddle muff or twiddle sleeve is a sensory stimulation aid typically used for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or other cognitive impairments. It is knitted with various different wools and has ribbons, buttons, beads, and other tactile objects attached to the inside and outside.

The purpose of a twiddle muff is to provide sensory stimulation and a source of comfort for individuals who may experience restlessness, anxiety, or agitation. The different textures and objects can help occupy restless hands, provide sensory input, and potentially reduce anxiety or agitation by offering a soothing and engaging activity.
